You're approved! What next?

Once you’re approved for production, you’ll need to maintain production access by following our Terms of Service.

To get the most out of your experience with the Blue Button API, we encourage you to keep in touch with the Blue Button API team and our developer community.

Maintain production access

To maintain production access to the Blue Button API, applications must comply with the Terms of Service. If a violation of the terms of service occurs, we’ll contact your application team with a detailed description of the violation. After we reach out, your application team will have:

  • 3 business days to correct the issue
  • 2 weeks to demo the changes to the Blue Button API Team
  • 30 days to complete a Corrective Action Plan, which includes a summary of the event and a strategy for sustaining corrected actions

If your application does not comply with our terms of service within the allowed time, service from the Blue Button API will be deactivated for your application. To reactivate Blue Button, you’ll need to re-register your application and prove it complies with the Blue Button terms of service.

Keep in touch with Blue Button

We may contact you to:

  • Announce new API features. Sometimes these new features will have breaking changes. We’ll let you know how to maintain continuity.
  • Request your feedback. We might ask how you’re using the API so we can learn how best to support your application.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service. If your app violates our terms of service, we’ll reach out to help you get back on track with a timeline for correcting the issue.

You should contact us whenever you:

  • Make substantial changes to your privacy policy
  • Have a breach affecting the data accessed through the API
  • Need help troubleshooting
